Brian Kent

With over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, Brian began his career with an independent materials testing consultant in 1987 before moving into Local Authority employment specialising in Materials Technology and Quality Assurance. Following his formative years, Brian has spent the bulk of his career occupying various senior technical and commercial positions within the operational and contracting arms of Tarmac and now occupies the position of National Technical Director. As well as formulating and overseeing national technical strategy development and implementation, Brian also leads a team of specialists focusing on process and product R&D, solution innovation and industry challenges.

In addition, Brian is also the current chairman of the MPA Asphalt Product Committee, a member of the PR steering group for the Asphalt Industry Alliance, an industry representative on the National Highways Pavement Optimisation Group and sits on the EAPA Executive Committee, therefore is well versed on current industry challenges and initiatives.
